Jim began his career as an agent for the Paul Revere Life Insurance Company in 1984, specializing in disability income products and life insurance. He achieved his RHU designation in 1989 and his CLU designation in 2003. In 1990, Jim incorporated Corrigan Insurance & Benefits Planning Inc. to better serve both new and existing clients with services that include Employee Benefits and Pension programs, International Benefits (for Canadian Corporations operating internationally), Succession Planning, Executive Compensation and Estate and Financial Planning. He has also authored numerous articles in the “Canadian HR Reporter” and “Benefits Canada” on such topics as Disability Insurance, International Benefits and Disability Management. In 2001, ‘The Living Benefits Group’ evolved allowing Jim and his associates to merge their years of experience and product knowledge into the market place to promote a unique and integrated approach to Disability Management.
Jim is a long-standing member of the Toronto Chapter of Advocis, the Conference for Advanced Life Underwriters (CALU), National Association of Health Underwriters (NAHU), Million Dollar Round Table (MDRT) and the Toronto Board of Trade. His steady involvement in his community has included the following:

Derrick W. Gleed, BA, CHS

Derrick began his career in 1984 as a District Sales Representative for a major life insurance company. Now with over 25 years of experience in the insurance industry, he has worked at both the Corporate and MGA levels and in recent years, as an Independent Advisor managing his own firm. His passion for disability insurance lead to an interest and specialization in Living Benefits. He achieved his Registered Health Underwriter designation in 1998.
Derrick’s industry participation has included assisting in the development of several Living Benefits products such as, Long Term Care; Critical Illness; and Disability Insurance. Together with Serge Gingras, LB Advisory Group Inc. was developed in 2007. This company offers specialized health insurance products and consulting services for insurance advisors as well as, unique benefit plan delivery platforms.
Derrick also has a strong passion for community service and has served as President of the Rotary Club of Whitby Sunrise, Board member for the Lakeridge Health Whitby Foundation and President of the Whitby Synchronized Skating Teams. He is currently the Chair of the Committee of Adjustment for the Town of Whitby and recently initiated several fundraising projects to support the needs of Canadian military personnel.

Serge Gingras, BAA, CHS

An insurance professional with over 20 years of experience and dedication to the industry, Serge is a recognized innovator in the sale and marketing of living benefits concepts. He is a graduate of Ryerson University and achieved his RHU (Registered Health Underwriter) designation, which is the highest level of education focused solely on Living Benefits.
While a distributor and marketer at different corporate levels, the Living Benefits arena has provided inspiration for concepts such as the Integrated Disability Solution, the Rate Stabilization Strategy and ExecPlus. These concepts use one or more products, including Disability, Critical Illness, Long Term Care and Healthcare Insurance, each of which falls under the umbrella of Living Benefits.
Serge has demonstrated a unique ability to simplify complex situations, while using creative solutions to apply “beyond the dots” thinking. He has a strong passion for his area of expertise, which transcends to a process making him a valuable part of the team.
Serge is married to Liz and together they have two children.
